Today I got started. The first step is to prepare the rear spar of the horizontal stabilizer for assembly.
These are the rear spar reinforcement bars. The ends need to be rounded and the sharp edges need to be slightly radiused (rounded and smoothed). Above is before and after. By the time I got to the second one, I had my method down. A couple of passes over a Scotch-Brite Wheel on a bench grinder at various angles, polished with some 400 grit sandpaper, and finished with a Scotch-Brite pad. The ends were rounded using a coarse vixen file prior to all of the above.
Cato was very curious about the noise.
The corner of the reinforcement bar that rests in the inside corner of the spar needed extra rounding so that it would lie flat against the web.

The rear spar and reinforcement bars are clecoed together and ready to be match drilled.
