Today was a pretty fun day and already a milestone. Got to set my first rivet of the project. The center elevator hinge bracket required some assembly. I broke out the pneumatic squeezer to accomplish this task.
First, I had to prime the steel bearing (I used Dupli-Color self etching primer)
Then, I clecoed the assembly together and set my first rivet. Beauty, eh?
The pneumatic squeezer makes it pretty easy. I won’t be able to use this on the skins later on (except the edges). Those rivets will be set with a rivet gun and bucking bar
I had a little time left, so I got to work on the front spar. The first step is to match drill the reinforcement angles to the tabs at the inboard ends of the spars.
