Not much time for the project today but I did get all the holes in the aft inboard rib drilled. No pictures. Just look at the picture from yesterday and imagine more holes in the rib. I’m kinda stuck right now. One of the sections I am drilling is a very tight squeeze (where the aft rib’s front flange meets the front spar and the front spar meets the nose rib). All three parts have to be match drilled. Van’s recommends using a right angle drill but that a long drill bit should be fine. I tried fitting the long drill bit in; however, it would drill at too much of an angle for my comfort. I was always taught “don’t half-ass it.” In looking ahead on the project, there are many more places where a right angle drill will come in handy. I ordered a 90 degree adapter for my existing drill which seems to be what a lot of other builders are doing. It should arrive Thursday. Til then, I have a riveting practice project I’ve been building on the side for when I finally get to the riveting.
