Today was a very short day on the project and my first big “uh-oh” which will involve replacing parts. I was all ready to drill the Inboard aft rib to the spar to the nose rib…well I used a 90 degree drill bit adapter and I guess I pushed a little too hard on it as it actually wobbled over and drilled one hell of an oval hole in the rib. Lessons learned: clamp your work and drill pilot holes before drilling to final size. I will be doing this right from now on. Also ruined the left front spar and reinforcement angle. I’ll have to order new parts and re-prep those. I called it quits for today after this.
