Today, I sealed the trailing edge. Van’s has you do this to keep the trailing edge straight while riveting it. I think a bigger deal is made about this than should be. Put sealant on both sides of the AEX wedge and pop it in place and cleco it to a piece of aluminum angle. Step one was to use the rudder skin to match drill a line of holes in a piece of aluminum angle. The angle will hold the edge straight while the sealant cures.
Used some wood blocks to prop skin open.
Didn’t take pics of the sealant being applied because it gets all over you fingers.
All set. Gotta let it cure for about a week (it’s a bit cold in the garage right now).
