Finally, got back to work on the project today after a brief hiatus. Today, Leza and I dimpled the elevator skins.
Nothing fancy today. Just prepped and primed all elevator stiffeners.
For the rudder, today I used the AEX wedge as a guide to drill the aluminum angle I will be using for keeping the trailing edge straight while the sealant dries. This went pretty fast and turned out so much better than the first time I attempted this. Next, I clecoed the AEX wedge to the skins and…
Today’s task was to dimple all the stiffeners for both the Elevator and Rudder.
Spent 2 hours devinyling the rivet lines on the elevator skins. Woohoo. Snore.
No pictures today. Just spent some time deburring the holes in both elevator skins and all the stiffeners.
Nothing fancy today. I deburred the Elevator stiffeners and final drilled stiffeners to Elevator skins. Basically, the same process as with the rudder.
Had a little time today so I smoothed the edges on all the stiffeners.
