Wrapped up the rudder today (except the fiberglass tips and bearings to connect to Vertical Stab).
All that was left today was to roll leading edge skins. This was done by taking a 5′ steel 3/4″ pipe and duct taping it along the edge and rolling it. A lot of force is applied down and back as you roll. It was a pain in the ass to get them clecoed together. Needed 4 hands but managed. The elevator skins are a bit thicker. I will definitely call a friend for help. All holes are enlarged to #30 and pop rivets are used here. I took it all apart to deburr and then went through the pain of reattaching them again for riveting. All rivets were a breeze except the top. I went to Harbor Freight and bought a cheap rivet puller for the sole purpose of grinding the tip down at an angle so I could fit it in the corner. Last rivet was pulled and the rudder is done.
